Know exactly who clicked and from where.

Shorten any URL into a clean link, track every click by device, browser, country and referrer, generate a QR code, and let UTM parameters append themselves — all without leaving the dashboard or installing a third-party tool.

Creating a short link

  1. Paste your destination URL. Any URL works — a product page, a blog post, a WhatsApp catalogue link, a booking page.
  2. Customise the slug. LigiComms generates a 6-character code automatically, but you can replace it with a custom slug — something readable like summer-sale or book-now.
  3. Set UTM parameters. Source, medium and campaign fields are pre-filled from your account's default UTM settings. Edit them per link or leave the defaults. The parameters are appended to the destination URL automatically before the redirect.
  4. Get the short link and QR code. Copy the short URL or download the QR code image — both are ready immediately and point to the same destination.

Click analytics — six views

Every click is recorded with the visitor's device type, browser, operating system, country and referrer. The analytics dashboard for each link shows:

  • Click timeline — a bar chart of clicks by day, so you can see exactly when a post drove traffic.
  • Device breakdown — mobile vs desktop vs tablet as a percentage.
  • Browser breakdown — Chrome, Safari, Firefox and others.
  • OS breakdown — Android, iOS, Windows, macOS.
  • Top countries — a horizontal bar chart showing where your clicks came from geographically.
  • Top referrers — which websites or apps sent traffic to your link.

UTM builder — set defaults once, apply everywhere

Go to Messaging Settings → UTM Builder and set a default source, medium and campaign for your account. Every new short link you create will pre-fill these values, saving you from typing them every time. You can still override on a per-link basis when a campaign needs different tracking.

UTM parameters are appended to the destination URL before the redirect happens, so your analytics platform (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.) receives them correctly — the visitor never sees the parameters in the short URL itself.

Editing a link after creation

You can change a short link's destination URL at any time — useful when a product page moves, or when you want to redirect traffic from an old campaign to a newer one. The short URL and its QR code stay the same; only where it points changes. All historical click data is preserved.

How the redirect works

Short links redirect at /l/{code} — a public, unauthenticated endpoint. Click recording is fire-and-forget: the redirect happens immediately at full speed and the analytics write happens asynchronously in the background. A visitor is never delayed while data is recorded.
